The Academy

What is Arda Eşberk Akademi?

Arda Eşberk Akademi is a Berlin-based academy for personal transformation. It is built on CineDrama — an original method that fuses Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey with cinema, acting, yoga and consciousness work.

The academy offers a five-level transformation journey for individuals, training in acting and communication, yoga and consciousness work grounded in 25 years of practice, and leadership and stage-practice programs for organizations.

Founder Arda Eşberk is an actor, director and writer with an MA in Film & TV from Kadir Has University, and a Cambridge IGCSE Drama certified educator. In cooperation with the Berlin Senate (Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Familie) he has run CineDrama projects at Aziz Nesin Grundschule and Carl-von-Ossietzky Gemeinschaftsschule. He has been a columnist at Şalom since 2017 and a producer at Metropol FM Berlin since 2019. Twenty-five years of yoga practice (Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the kundalini system) form the embodied, inner ground of the CineDrama method.

His theatre production "Kibele's Daughters" was staged at Berlin's UfaFabrik in 2020 and filmed on stage; the film was screened in Frankfurt in 2023.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What is CineDrama?
CineDrama is the method of personal transformation developed by Arda Eşberk, fusing cinema, acting, Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey model, yoga and consciousness work. It is the core teaching of his book "Rol Arkadaşım Olur Musun?" (Alfa Yayınevi, 2016).
Is Arda Eşberk qualified to teach in Germany?
Yes. He is a Cambridge IGCSE Drama certified educator. In cooperation with the Berlin Senate (Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Familie) he has run CineDrama projects at Aziz Nesin Grundschule and Carl-von-Ossietzky Gemeinschaftsschule. He has led joint projects with art schools in Berlin and Stuttgart, and staged his theatre production "Kibele's Daughters" in Berlin (2020); its film version was screened in Frankfurt (2023). His MA in Film & TV from Kadir Has University is recognised in Germany.
Are the trainings online or in person?
Most trainings are hybrid: video modules on the academy platform, live sessions online, optional in-person workshops in Berlin. The Mentor's Circle (Level 5) is fully in person.
Why are yoga trainings part of a CineDrama academy?
Arda Eşberk has practised yoga since 2001. He has worked with Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the kundalini system for 25 years; he trained in music and sound healing at the P.K. Salve Academy of Music and Art in India, and in Mantak Chia's Universal Healing Tao in Thailand. CineDrama treats cinema as the outer and yoga as the inner — two faces of the same journey.
Can you build a custom program for my company?
Yes. Previous work includes Vodafone Türkiye (2016), Doğuş Group (2017), Türkiye National Team U17 (2014), the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (SPK, Ankara, 2017), Rotary and Hertha BSC Berlin.
